A Diamond Collection Property Hosts a Unique Guest

November 6, 2012 23:03 by Emily

Beth Colt, innkeeper at the Woods Hole Inn on Cape Cod, posted a photo on her Facebook page last year of a red chair on a frozen pond behind her house. That photo and a later one shot by California photographer Julie Ann Cromer were beautiful images were enjoyed by many. So this fall, the famous Red Chair is crisscrossing New England, staying at inns and B&Bs.

World travelers themselves, innkeepers Brad and Ilja Chapman of Adair Country Inn & Restaurant in Bethlehem, New Hampshire wanted to participate. They welcomed the well-traveled Red Chair to their intimate and romantic inn for a late October visit (October 22-25).

The innkeepers took the chair all over town for sightseeing and fun activities, from visiting local restaurants to a Christmas tree fam to hanging out in the inn's own kitchen for breakfast.

After a fun visit at the Adair Country Inn, the Red Chair headed off to the Inn at the Round Barn Farm in Vermont. All three of those participating properties are members of the BedandBreakfast.com Diamond Collection.

You can learn more about the journeys of the Red Chair on its own website.

Review of the Week: Glynn House Inn in Ashland, NH

April 25, 2012 19:08 by Emily

Glynn House Inn is a Diamond Collection property in Ashland, New Hampshire. The inn has 12 rooms and suites, four of which are pet-friendly. It was originally built in 1896. Guests here enjoy a gourmet breakfast at individual tables, plus complimentary evening wine and hors d'oeuvres.

It's located in the heart of New Hampshire's lakes and mountains, and it's only a five-minute walk to the quaint village of Ashland. Nearby activities include antiquing, art galleries, boating, fine dining, fishing, golfing, hiking, historic sites, skiing, sleigh rides, and snowmobiling.

The following is a stellar review left for a stay at the inn last summer:

"Amazing First B&B Experience"
My boyfriend and I live in Seattle and we both work and go to school and work a lot. Out schedules are so hectic, I decided it was time for a relaxing vacation away. So I searched B&Bs online, we had never been and I always wanted to got to New Hampshire. The reviews I read about the personal and outstanding service were convincing enough and the pictures were amazing. We had the most personal and amazing service from the day we arrived! We stayed in the Adam's suite the first week of June. The breakfasts are indescribable, and Glenn, Ingrid & Pam were the kindest people. You felt like a part of the family.

They were so quick to help us plan our days and help with all of the reservations, they really did all the work and let us enjoy ourselves and not worry about a thing! They even sent us home with bags of muffins since I loved them so much! These are genuinely some of the kindest people I have come across in my life and we will definitely try to make 1-2 trips a year back--especially a trip around Christmas. The inn is a beautiful Victorian style home and we were told Christmas lights and trees in every room and I would love to be there for the snow. This was an amazing experience we will never forget with some amazing people; you will not be disappointed any way shape or form.

Review of the Week: Chesterfield Inn, West Chesterfield, NH

November 17, 2010 00:21 by Emily

Chesterfield Inn in West Chesterfield, NH sits on 10 lush acres and overlooks the Connecticut River Valley. Many of the 15 guest rooms feature fireplaces, whirlpool tubs, and private terraces. Within a short distance are activities such as skiing, hiking, biking, shopping, antiquing, canoeing, and kayaking. Well-behaved pets are welcome.

This positive review was posted in April 2010 from a stay last November.

Review title: "A truly memorable experience"

"During a trip to New England last fall I was treated to a wonderful stay at the Chesterfield Inn. The inn and restaurant are a perfect escape to experience the true charm of New England. The room with its inviting fire and sitting area and dreamy king size bed made me want my alarm to clock to never go off. Make sure to take a stroll around at night and enjoy the peace and serenity of this beautiful place. The dining is unforgettable. Make sure to include a dinner in your stay and you will be treated to an amazing meal and the perfect atmosphere to enjoy that meal. The inventive desserts should not even be an option to forgo. The breakfast was simply amazing and the perfect leisurely and inviting way to start a brisk New England day. The staff is wonderfully helpful and truly pleasant to be surrounded by. I hope to return on my next trip to New Hampshire and this time be able to stay. If your travels bring you anywhere in this area, this will be the place you want to spend your valuable time."
