Review of the Week: Andon-Reid Inn Bed and Breakfast in Waynesville, NC

July 15, 2011 01:54 by Emily

Ron and Rachel Reid are the innkeepers of Andon-Reid Inn Bed and Breakfast in Waynesville, North Carolina. Read through their reviews, and you'll quickly see that guests feel right at home with them. Their peaceful Diamond Collection B&B has mountain views and is within walking distance of downtown Waynesville. Each luxurious room has a private bath and fireplace. While you will enjoy the personal experience of a B&B, it also offers amenities that you can usually only find at hotels, such as a recreation room, a fitness studio with commercial exercise equipment, dry heat sauna, Wii Sports, table-top shuffleboard, billards, and darts.

This long but lovely review was left for a stay in March 2011.

"Not only a bed and breakfast"
My wife and I had not had a chance to have our honeymoon six months ago when we got married. I searched the Waynesville and Asheville area for BnBs and Andon-Reid seemed to offer the best bang for the buck. This turned out to be an understatement. Our stay was outstanding and the attention to detail was uncanny. Rachel even covered the bed with rose petals. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Rachel and Ron as if we were ol' pals. And for the first Hello, they made us feel like we were at home. I had made some requests to surprise my wife (wine, chocolate covered strawberries and fresh flowers) that were met above my expectations.

We stayed in the White Sulfer Suite, which turned out to be very cozy and comfortable. The amenities of this room are better than you'd expect. The screened balcony overlooks the mountains and the sun iluminates it just right in the morning. The room is so comfortable that you'd find hard to leave it. If you decide to go sight seeing, disconnect your GPS and let Rachel and Ron give you tips on where to go. They give directions so precise that the only thing to beat it would be grid coordinates. They also seem to know exactly what you are looking for and are great at suggesting new adventures. They have great relations with the community and with other businesses in the area. Just mentioning their names often gets you a great smile and great service, not that this is lacking dowtown.

The town is great, just small enough to forget about the buzzing of city living yet with many of the attractions that you find in larger cities. The scene is very picturesque and friendly; everyone we came in contact with was very friendly, warm and accomodating. We would not only recommend this bed breakfast to our friends, but we are surely coming back on our next vacation. Ron and Rachel made us feel like family, and we cannot wait to see them again. This is definitely much more than just a bed and breakfast...
