If you're looking for a romantic and quiet getaway in the South, Buckhorn Inn in Gatlinburg, Tennessee is a wonderful place to stay. This Diamond Collection property spans 30 acres and features a nature trail, gardens, a spring-fed lake with swans, and a meditation labyrinth. The inn has been in business since 1938 and says they are the only B&B in the area to serve dinner. They are just one mile from the north entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Some of the in-room amenities are fireplaces, Jacuzzi tubs, and private porches and terraces.
Additionally, many of the guest rooms have fantastic views of the Smoky Mountains:
Guests can enjoy food or a glass of wine in the dining room, which also has great mountain views:
You can stay in a room in the main building, but you also have the option to stay in one of these cottages tucked away in the woods:
Another option is staying in one of three guesthouses--perfect if you want a lot of space or are bringing along some friends or family:
A great way to end the day here is to watch the sun set. This is a photo of a sunset over the Smokies from the Buckhorn Inn's veranda:
