History buffs will love staying at Antrim 1844, a Pre-Civil War estate located on 24 acres in Historic Taneytown, Maryland. It was built in 1844 and was once a thriving plantation. It is now a beautifully restored B&B that is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The property is just 15 minutes from Gettysburg, where you can see famous battlegrounds from the Civil War. It's also only an hour from Washington, D.C. and Baltimore.

There are nine guestrooms within the main mansion, but there are 31 other rooms and suites housed in unique outbuildings. All of those rooms have their own fireplaces. Guests can enjoy world class dining at the inn's Smokehouse Restaurant, where you can enjoy a gourmet six-course meal designed by their executive chef. The inn is also home to Pickwick Pub, which serves some of the world's finest cognacs and whiskeys.
