BedandBreakfast.com name "Editor's Picks" for Celebration Vacations

June 1, 2009 15:35 by Marti
We all know when it comes time for a romantic vacation, the best place to turn is a beautiful country inn or B&B. While some are foregoing their vacations or shortening them up, the suveys show that people are still traveling to celebrate important occasions.  In fact, in a June 2008 survey conducted by Peter Yesawich’s Y Partnership, 70% of respondents celebrated a special occasion with a vacation, while 75% vacationed in celebration of their honeymoon or a significant anniversary. Similarly, a May 2009 survey conducted by hotels.com found that honeymooners are not cutting back, despite the recession; its survey of 500 brides-to-be found that 98% are still planning to honeymoon after their wedding.

A four-day B&B celebration vacation is the new one-week vacation for busy couples. Added amenities and romantic itineraries make B&B getaways a value-rich experience. Breakfast, afternoon refreshments, haute hospitality and the finest in furnishings and décor add up to more than $100 in added value, according to BedandBreakfast.com editors. Look for nearly 300 romantic getaways on BedandBreakfast.com.

BedandBreakfast.com editors roamed America and Europe to compile this list of perfect places to celebrate a romantic honeymoon or anniversary. While nearly all B&Bs are great for romantic getaways, these inns were chosen for their pampering amenities, recreation-rich locations, and quality décor, hospitality, and cuisine. Listed in alphabetical order by state within each region, nearly all these inns were visited by a member of the BedandBreakfast.com editorial team, and best of all, many of them cost less than $500 for a two-night stay.  For those looking to splurge, we’ve also included several exceptional choices.  For complete descriptions, photos and rates for each inn, visit the BedandBreakfast.com Press Room.

Jill Marais

Hi from Jill Marais at the Rivonia Bed and Breakfast in Johannesburg, South Africa.
My husband and I have fallen in love with the USA (we have a son and his family in San Jose, which has added to our enthusiastic response to your beautiful country).
We invite any Americans visiting Johannesburg to look us up. We belong to an Association of B&B's called Sandton Exclusive Accommodation (SEA). We have 25 members.
So if we don't have a room for you, we'll find you one. South Africa is hosting the Soccer World Cup in 2010 - so things are hectic as we get ready to accommodate our soccer guests from all round the world.
