Swan Inn
Located in Pocatello, Idaho, this inn
features 15 uniquely themed rooms and is geared toward couples looking for a
romantic escape. Each room is incredibly detailed and will transport you to a
different era. Stay in the Wild West Suite, where you will feel like you’ve
stepped into an 1800s saloon, complete with a mural of a cowboy on a dusty
street. The sunken bath has a wooden roof, a showerhead built to look like an
old bucket, and a faux water pump.
The Mayan Rain Forest features a bed built
into Mayan ruins, a forest mural, a bamboo treehouse you can climb into (with a
jetted tub in the bottom level of the treehouse), a palm leaf fan, a television
built into a rock, and tons of faux plants. You will feel like you’re camping
out in the jungle.
Other themes here include Arabian Nights,
pirates, caveman, Romeo and Juliet, Atlantis, and Ancient Egypt.
Rendezvous
This B&B in Palm Springs, CA will take
you back to the days of the sockhop. Teeming in ‘50s nostalgia, the entryway
features frosted glass and plays 1950s music. Enjoy a blue raspberry
martini during happy hour at the custom vinyl bar and sunbathe on the blue Astroturf sun deck by the pool and hot tub. The inn was
originally established in 1938 and called Mira Loma, and it was a getaway for
the likes of Marilyn Monroe, Veronica
Lake, Gloria
Swanson and Hugh O’Brien. Marilyn’s
favorite room is now called the Pretty in Pink room. Each room
has a different theme; they include the Crooners, Rebel Without a Cause, Route
