Photo of the Week: La Haut Plantation, Soufriere, Saint Lucia

November 4, 2010 10:22 by Emily

Not thrilled about the encroaching cold weather? Get away from it with an escape to the warm and sunny Eastern Caribbean. La Haut Plantation is a working citrus and cocoa plantation that also has a guest house with 13 rooms. It sits along Saint Lucia's coast, and much of the property overlooks the sparkling blue water and rocky twin peaks, the Pitons. This photo is the view from La Haut Plantation's restaurant. It's hard to beat! The inn also has a fresh water pool overlooking the same view, as do some of the guest rooms. There are no televisions, so this is the place to go if you want to really unwind. There are plentiful nearby outdoor activities, including hiking in the rainforests, climbing the Pitons, bathing in sulphur springs, visiting waterfalls, kayaking, snorkeling, scuba diving, and bird/whale/dolphin-watching.
