Go Green at Centaur Health Resort and Spa in Arroyo Grande, CA

Many large hotels are implementing environmentally-friendly practices, but some small resorts and B&Bs are also hopping on board. Centaur Health Resort and Spa in Arroyo Grande, California is unique in that it's "totally green." Co-owners Ed J. Muraski and Dianna Muraski personally designed, constructed, and completed their green concept at their small resort. They are enthusiastic about sharing their concept with guests.

Here are some of the green practices they do:

•    Solar panels heat the water in their 50-foot heated pool and generate electricity for their spa. Their panels supply 100% of their pool heating and electricity for their spa.
•    The spa uses an energy-saving “on demand” water system to heat the faucet water.
•    Seventy percent of the interior of their spa center was constructed from recycled materials.
•    Ninety percent of their horse stable and overhang storage area was constructed of discarded recycled materials.
•    They also recycle all waste and for 30 years
•    They have purchased live Christmas trees and either planted them or donated them to schools and colleges.

With only three bedrooms, guests can enjoy personal attention and relaxation. Their 50-foot heated lap pool, Jacuzzi, and meditation garden sit directly behind the house and overlook the ocean. The health resort offers special treatments for detoxification, weight management, anti-cellulite, and fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue, and more. They also offer traditional services such as massage, yoga, and counseling.
