MorningSong B&B is an inn with two guest rooms in Ouray, Colorado. It is located less than half a block from Main Street, within walking distance to the town’s shops and restaurants. It’s also just five blocks from the public hot springs pool, two blocks from a private hot springs pool and vapor cave, and four blocks from Cascade Falls, which you can see from their balconies. Innkeeper Faith Parry took the time to answer several questions for us about what makes her B&B special and why Ouray is a fun place to visit.
1. What do you enjoy most about being an innkeeper?
The fabulous people I meet and the long-term friends I have made.
2. How long have you been an innkeeper?
For 3 1/2 years.
3. Why did you choose this inn and this city?
A friend had an empty building and offered it to me to do whatever I wanted with it.
4. What sets your B&B apart from others?
We are small and VERY personal. We have invited our guests to dinner. We have taken our guests on impromptu wine tours, have gone to concerts with guests, gone out to dinner with guests and taken them to parties with us! We treat our guests like family. We sit on the deck with them and drink wine or beer and eat goodies. Also, we serve local and organic foods for breakfast. No traditional breakfasts here!
5. Why do you think travelers should choose B&Bs over hotels?
There is no comparison. The relationships and personal attention is priceless!

6. Does your B&B have any special history?
The building was built by the current county judge in the 80's as a local radio station and has been the law office of the judge, a title insurance office, a Hmong retail store, and now a B&B!
7. What makes your town worth visiting—are there any interesting local attractions or activities?
In the winter we have the largest man-made ice park in the world and attract professional and amateur climbers worldwide! We also have amazing cross country skiing and nearby epic downhill ski resorts. We have natural hot springs coming out of the ground all over the area, which have been turned into some public pools as well as private in hotels and resorts. In the summer we are the Jeeping capital of the world as well as hiking, biking, rock climbing, fishing and any other outdoor activity you can think of!
8. Do you have any breakfast specialties?
Two of the favorites are spinach and eggs, and portabella mushroom.
9. Do you have any special offers coming up?
On December 10th, I am putting on the third annual Wine Chocolate and Cheese Festival and will include two tickets to the festival with a booking over the weekend.
